Go Green
We formed Go Green after discovering what the impact of the Climate Change Act on small to medium sized businesses would be; We've researched the subject fully for over a year and were astounded to discover that no one was taking the message to the SME sector.
The Climate Change Act will require the reporting of green house gas emissions of business BY 2012, no businesses that we have surveyed thus far is aware of this, never mind being in a position to actually start measuring, monitoring or managing their green house gas emissions, NO business is exempt from the act. Add to this the impact of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme on larger companies, which like it or not will filter down to the smaller end of the market by way of smaller companies having to provide details of their product or service's carbon footprint/cost to the companies and organisations affected by CRC, Why? Put simply, CRC costs the larger companies and organisations money based on their carbon emissions, it can there for be easily deduced that before long those organisations will be looking at the Carbon cost to them of using the SME's products and services.
We care about our fellow SME's, we don't want to see you being caught out by this, it will be costly for failing to comply, our belief is that we must all comply now or end up paying later, ultimately we could end up with small businesses being closed down for not taking heed. The Governments position has been made clear, the onus is on us to ensure we comply. It was to this end that we decided to do something about this and we there for set up Go Green with a view of helping small and medium sized companies to comply with this law.
Measure
We aim to help our clients to realise that by measuring they are better placed to reduce and understand their green house gas emissions. From these measurements we will help to transform how they run their workplaces to being as environmentally responsible as they can be with the money, time and knowledge that they have.
We do this by having staff meetings where we seek to gain buy in from directors, management and staff, This helps them to understand how they can make a real contribution at their own workplace.
Monitor
We provide the detailed information on how the company can take clear practical steps to achieve their environmental goals.
We help establish a method of monitoring the ongoing plan of reduction.
We do this through site surveys and meetings with key decision makers, and eco audits
Manage
We provide detailed information on how the company can take practical steps to attain their environmental goals.
We help to establish an action plan, which includes the appointment of a recognised emissions monitor within the company, it being their job to ensure the continued management of the plan to help reduce emissions.
